Airbus Q1 Earnings: Profits Halve Amid Delivery Slowdown
Airbus reported a stark 52% decline in adjusted operating profit to €300 million for Q1 2026, down from €624 million a year earlier. Revenue fell 7% to €12.65 billion, though this surpassed analyst expectations of €12.39 billion. The aerospace giant delivered only 114 commercial aircraft during the quarter—a 16% drop from Q1 2025—lagging behind Boeing's 143 deliveries despite its rival's recent operational struggles.
Persistent engine shortages from supplier Pratt & Whitney continue to constrain production. Airbus maintained its full-year target of 870 aircraft deliveries, signaling confidence in resolving supply chain bottlenecks. Adjusted free cash flow plummeted to -€2.485 billion, while EPS of €0.74 outperformed forecasts of €0.44.
